Who the Heck am I

Welcome to my blog, I ran out of storage space on my last blog so instead of purchasing more space I decided to start another.

Photographing is one of my biggest passions in life. I've been a photographer for 20+ years. Although I have sold some of my work I consider myself an advance amateur. Which means I'm pretty good at pretending to know what I am doing. I arrived from Massachusetts to Northern Kentucky September 16, 2001. I hated it, for months I complained about living here, besides all the redneck jokes I would get there was nothing about Northern Kentucky I enjoyed, when I got over myself I dusted off my camera and headed for the hills, literally, I never fully understood what a beautiful place this is until I was given my first digital camera as a Christmas gift. In all honesty you couldn't get me to move out of this state.

Living so near to Cincinnati (I live right across the river) no other city can offer me more. Art museums, Cincinnati Zoo, symphony, theatre, aquarium, amusement park, Dozens of parks, one of the largest and most amazing firework display in the country and so much more. If you are from the area you know what I am talking about, if you're not, believe me when I say In and Around Northern Kentucky is worth the visit.

I know you will want to check out my other blog, I have shot photographs at the Behringer-Crawford Museum, Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati Zoo, Creation Museum, Eden Park, Findlay Market, Fountain, Square, Krohn Conservatory, Rabbit Hash, KY, Railway Museum, Smale Park, Spring Grove Cemetery and much more. CSO Lumenocity

My photo buddy texts me yesterday and says "do you want to go to Lumenocity at Washington Park?" so of course I text back and ask "what is Lumenocity?" photo buddy's response was "OMG" I knew then that my ignorance was showing and just waited for the answer, "Lumenocity is the 2nd annual Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra event being held in Washington Park," you dumb ass....okay I added that last part in my head after I read his reply. The event doesn't actually start until this evening (Friday night) but the dress rehearsal was last night, thinking the event had to be free we headed on down to watch.

When we arrived we found out the event was free however, we still needed tickets to enter, so we walked around in search for a free place to sit, during this exhausting search we came across some local news channels.

Then we stumbled across the construction of the new tracks for the street car.

finally we found a spot and planted ourselves as close to the symphony as possible, which was right behind them and across the street. Yep not so pretty but all I wanted was to listen to the music anyway.

While getting comfy, well as comfy as you can on cement a woman came up to us and asked if we would like tickets to get into the event, seriously not going to turn something like that down, even if it is only a dress rehearsal.

Now this became our view, YAY!!!

This was only a fraction of the crowd that showed up.

A lot of media coverage for a dress rehearsal.

Lets add a beautiful sunset...

...and the local dance company.

While we are on a roll lets bring on a little opera.

She had such a beautiful voice, I planned on taping her performance, which I did however.....reason number 19 as to why I will never call myself a professional photographer, when shooting video of an opera singer make sure you have the volume turned on....CRAP!!!

My rating for this event? Seriously? 5 STARS!!!
