Who the Heck am I

Welcome to my blog, I ran out of storage space on my last blog so instead of purchasing more space I decided to start another.

Photographing is one of my biggest passions in life. I've been a photographer for 20+ years. Although I have sold some of my work I consider myself an advance amateur. Which means I'm pretty good at pretending to know what I am doing. I arrived from Massachusetts to Northern Kentucky September 16, 2001. I hated it, for months I complained about living here, besides all the redneck jokes I would get there was nothing about Northern Kentucky I enjoyed, when I got over myself I dusted off my camera and headed for the hills, literally, I never fully understood what a beautiful place this is until I was given my first digital camera as a Christmas gift. In all honesty you couldn't get me to move out of this state.

Living so near to Cincinnati (I live right across the river) no other city can offer me more. Art museums, Cincinnati Zoo, symphony, theatre, aquarium, amusement park, Dozens of parks, one of the largest and most amazing firework display in the country and so much more. If you are from the area you know what I am talking about, if you're not, believe me when I say In and Around Northern Kentucky is worth the visit.

I know you will want to check out my other blog, I have shot photographs at the Behringer-Crawford Museum, Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati Zoo, Creation Museum, Eden Park, Findlay Market, Fountain, Square, Krohn Conservatory, Rabbit Hash, KY, Railway Museum, Smale Park, Spring Grove Cemetery and much more. Merry Christmas Cincinnati

With all the rain that is suppose to move into the area over the next several days we thought it would be a good idea to head into the city for a look around. The weatherperson promised that the rain would not start until late tonight but as soon as we walked outside to head to the car, yep you guessed it, it started to rain, damn weatherperson, soooooo back in the house we went to check the radar. Not to disappointing, just a little blob over the area, I thought it would clear by the time we found a parking spot. I love it when I'm right. The first order of business was to head to Graeter's ice cream so we could finally, after two years,  spend the gift card we had. The diabetic side of me reasoned that since we were going to be walking around the city my sugar level wouldn't increase that much, again I love it when I'm right. If you love ice cream + you love chocolate and peanut butter I strongly recommend ordering the Buckeye Blitz with hot fudge, whip cream and a cherry, I'm not a nut fan so I omit the nuts. All I can say is I ate it before I realized I forgot to take a photo of it. Well anyway it was yummmmmmmy.

This was my first time with the new camera photographing at night. I wish I could say wow but the reality of it is I need to work on it more. I knew the Rebel down pat, the 60d is a bit different, I also bought a new cable shutter release that really took some practice, a lot different then my wireless shutter release. I better get the hang of it before the fireworks season starts in April.

As for the quality, I'm extremely pleased. I have absolutely no regrets with the 60d at all. Oh I almost forgot, I tried out the video, I suck, need a much better tripod. Will work on videos during the daytime first then graduate to night time.

The two photos above were hand held. Note to self, always use a tripod when shooting at night.
