Who the Heck am I

Welcome to my blog, I ran out of storage space on my last blog so instead of purchasing more space I decided to start another.

Photographing is one of my biggest passions in life. I've been a photographer for 20+ years. Although I have sold some of my work I consider myself an advance amateur. Which means I'm pretty good at pretending to know what I am doing. I arrived from Massachusetts to Northern Kentucky September 16, 2001. I hated it, for months I complained about living here, besides all the redneck jokes I would get there was nothing about Northern Kentucky I enjoyed, when I got over myself I dusted off my camera and headed for the hills, literally, I never fully understood what a beautiful place this is until I was given my first digital camera as a Christmas gift. In all honesty you couldn't get me to move out of this state.

Living so near to Cincinnati (I live right across the river) no other city can offer me more. Art museums, Cincinnati Zoo, symphony, theatre, aquarium, amusement park, Dozens of parks, one of the largest and most amazing firework display in the country and so much more. If you are from the area you know what I am talking about, if you're not, believe me when I say In and Around Northern Kentucky is worth the visit.

I know you will want to check out my other blog, I have shot photographs at the Behringer-Crawford Museum, Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati Zoo, Creation Museum, Eden Park, Findlay Market, Fountain, Square, Krohn Conservatory, Rabbit Hash, KY, Railway Museum, Smale Park, Spring Grove Cemetery and much more. Memorial Day Parade

While living in Devou Park for as many years as we had it was easy to get to know the park rangers, one in particular is Larry, (photo below). Larry has been a park ranger since they were established in the park, I believe but don't hold me to it that was circa 2004. I tried to run into Larry while still living in the cabin to say goodbye however, the opportunity never came, well talk about a surprise this afternoon when I found Larry parked in front of our yard, he was just as surprised to see me, after telling him how we came about buying a house in Covington I found out that he was waiting to join the Memorial Day Parade, silly me had no idea that in just a few minutes a parade was going to start just 2 blocks from my house. When Larry had to leave I went back home, grabbed my camera and off I went. The parade had a couple of surprises but in reality it was really lacking, it's always fun though to watch the candy being thrown at the kids on the sides of the road, it's like Halloween without having to do any walking or wearing of customs, you get the idea.

I found out today that Larry is the oldest active Covington police officer. You go Larry!!!

Cincinnati Reds Fireworks Friday

I'm not going to go into to much detail at the moment, my forehead keeps hitting the keyboard, I'm extremely tired.

27-May-13. I want to give a big 5 star rating to the fireworks show. Spectacular!!!

Around the House

The above photo is a good example as to why you really wait a year before doing any landscaping when you are in a new house. You just never know what is going to pop up.
Jessie & Jasper enjoying the new yard.

Greg not really enjoying the new yard...lol

Firework Friday

For those of you in the area I see the Cincinnati Reds has fireworks scheduled, dress warm it's going to be chilly. I finally plan on being there to try out my 60d.

STAY TUNED!!!

I'm Still Hanging Around

Okay, Okay, I know I haven't exactly been around, that is going to change very soon, the house has taken up a lot of my time trying to get it together then yesterday my car died, it should be back in good health in a couple of days just in time for the weekend. One benefit I did discover while being stranded is how convenient public transportation is, I had to take the bus back to my house, dropped me off 500ft from my front door for only a $1.50, a cab would have cost me $20.00. Anyway thumbs up for the bus.

Stay tune, i'll be out and about real soon.

Back Online

After over a week I am finally back online and in the new house. Unpacking has begun, the house is a mess and my first night here I fell down the stairs, hit my head hard and managed to get bruises in places that I had no idea you could. Feeling a bit better today but still extremely sore. I doubt I'll be getting out in the next few days to photograph but I know I'll be needing a break real soon. Sooooo stay turned.

For those of you in the area the Butterfly show at Krohn's is going on now, don't miss it.
