Who the Heck am I

Welcome to my blog, I ran out of storage space on my last blog so instead of purchasing more space I decided to start another.

Photographing is one of my biggest passions in life. I've been a photographer for 20+ years. Although I have sold some of my work I consider myself an advance amateur. Which means I'm pretty good at pretending to know what I am doing. I arrived from Massachusetts to Northern Kentucky September 16, 2001. I hated it, for months I complained about living here, besides all the redneck jokes I would get there was nothing about Northern Kentucky I enjoyed, when I got over myself I dusted off my camera and headed for the hills, literally, I never fully understood what a beautiful place this is until I was given my first digital camera as a Christmas gift. In all honesty you couldn't get me to move out of this state.

Living so near to Cincinnati (I live right across the river) no other city can offer me more. Art museums, Cincinnati Zoo, symphony, theatre, aquarium, amusement park, Dozens of parks, one of the largest and most amazing firework display in the country and so much more. If you are from the area you know what I am talking about, if you're not, believe me when I say In and Around Northern Kentucky is worth the visit.

I know you will want to check out my other blog, I have shot photographs at the Behringer-Crawford Museum, Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati Zoo, Creation Museum, Eden Park, Findlay Market, Fountain, Square, Krohn Conservatory, Rabbit Hash, KY, Railway Museum, Smale Park, Spring Grove Cemetery and much more. Supermoon & More

Best I could do without a zoom lens. I have to admit the moon photographed better then expected. Hope you got the chance to view it.

Out and About

I've been pretty well holding up in the house lately so I decided to head on out with my almost husband, he needed to make a little detour first, he has become addicted to DQ's vanilla soft cones, thankfully I've been able to say no....lately.

I'm not sure if I have mentioned this but almost husband and I are getting married next month, we decided to take our vows at the park below, which is located on the Ohio River right across from downtown Cincinnati. It is going to be a very casual affair. I'm thinking jeans and a T-shirt, yes I'm serious.

So many enjoying the city view on Riverside Drive. Not a bench to be had, damn it.

This little guy stayed around long enough to have his photograph taken.
I'm not a big fan of the carriage rides, especially when it is almost 90 degrees out.
I'm sorry but seriously, it's one thing to go boating on the Ohio River but another to have the water actually splash on you, yucky!
Around the garden, unfortunately not mine but my neighbors.

 I just love this.
Don't ask about the last four photos, I've been bored.

Guiseppe's

Okay you know me I'm not one that has spent a lot of time advertising places but since we have moved to the area we have tried out a few different restaurants, Guiseppe's for one has become our favorite little neighborhood pizzeria, second best part, it is within walking distance. I have been in such a slump when it comes to pizza that I stopped eating it all together, that is until Guiseppe's, talk about a turn around, the pizza is well the second best pizza, and the hoagies, yummy!!! I say second best only because they don't offer a white pizza and I just love garlic, maybe I can get them to start making them, talk about delish.

Looking at the place from the outside really doesn't pay it justice, you walk in to a very cozy dining room, nicely lit and not enough tables, lunch and dinner no matter what day of the week is crowded. So if you are ever in the area of Madison and 26th St, I strongly suggest you stop on by. My rating? A strong 4 out of 5. Maybe if they come up with a white pizza I'll rate it a little higher.

14-Jun-13 Cincinnati Reds Fireworks

Another fireworks event. with Italianfest going at the same time as the fireworks parking and traffic were a little difficult. Unfortunately it looks like I'll have to wait 3 weeks before I'll get another photo opportunity, which is July 5th, hoping for a lot more boats on the river. Heading to Goettafest for lunch tomorrow, with camera in tow of course.

Active Weekend

This weekend is going to be an active one, especially on the Kentucky side of the river, Italianfest in Newport which actually started yesterday, Goettafest  at MainStrasse Village, which is where I am planning on going, I might hit Italianfest on Sunday but my blood sugar is screaming to only go to one fest, actually my blood sugar is saying not to go to any food fest but I never was a really good listener. To start though tonight the Reds have another fireworks event going on so come on out and check it out, it's going to be a great weekend.

Practicing his drum skills, keep practicing.
The recent bad weather has left the Ohio River a bit murky.
Tell me the clouds aren't amazing.

07-Jun-13 Cincinnati Reds Fireworks Friday

It was another fantastic firework show, Rozzi has yet to disappoint. Another event is scheduled for June 14th so if you have missed the fun so far head on out next week.

2013 Fort Mitchell Police/Montgomery Inn 1st Annual Classic Car Show

1st annual anything might make you raise an eyebrow and wonder if it is worth attending, in this case it was. We arrived around 10:30 a.m. with very few spectators, I found this a plus since my goal was to photograph, photograph, photograph. What was a bit annoying was the amount of owner's that made it extremely difficult to photograph their cars since they were spending so much time cleaning them, a necessity I certainly understand but still an annoyance. One other thing that I found annoying from a photographers point of view, please clean up all the crap you leave around your cars when you are done with it, makes an ugly photograph.

So on a scale of 1-5 I have to give this first annual classic car show a 3.75, well done for the first time. I do hope to see more cars next year, how about more available food and drink selection. Although I realize their is a limited amount of space however, some of the cars were parked way to close to each other, I need to breath and not worry about touching any cars, accidentally of course.
