Who the Heck am I

Welcome to my blog, I ran out of storage space on my last blog so instead of purchasing more space I decided to start another.

Photographing is one of my biggest passions in life. I've been a photographer for 20+ years. Although I have sold some of my work I consider myself an advance amateur. Which means I'm pretty good at pretending to know what I am doing. I arrived from Massachusetts to Northern Kentucky September 16, 2001. I hated it, for months I complained about living here, besides all the redneck jokes I would get there was nothing about Northern Kentucky I enjoyed, when I got over myself I dusted off my camera and headed for the hills, literally, I never fully understood what a beautiful place this is until I was given my first digital camera as a Christmas gift. In all honesty you couldn't get me to move out of this state.

Living so near to Cincinnati (I live right across the river) no other city can offer me more. Art museums, Cincinnati Zoo, symphony, theatre, aquarium, amusement park, Dozens of parks, one of the largest and most amazing firework display in the country and so much more. If you are from the area you know what I am talking about, if you're not, believe me when I say In and Around Northern Kentucky is worth the visit.

I know you will want to check out my other blog, I have shot photographs at the Behringer-Crawford Museum, Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati Zoo, Creation Museum, Eden Park, Findlay Market, Fountain, Square, Krohn Conservatory, Rabbit Hash, KY, Railway Museum, Smale Park, Spring Grove Cemetery and much more. First Annual Independence Classic Car and Motorcycle Show

Independence, KY had their first classic car show today, it was a small turnout car and motorcycle wise but foot traffic was pretty steady, it helped I think that they held it at the Kroger parking lot. Hope it continues next year. Because of the size my rating for the event is a 2.5. It pains me to have to write that, if they can at least double the size next year and bring in food and drink trucks, I'm sure I will be able to give it a solid 4 out 5.

What's a car show without a photo of a cute little puppy. By the way this little guy is only 2 months old. Yikes, he is going to be a big one.

MainStrasse Classic Car Show

I realize I haven't been around much, I've been a little under the weather. Yesterday as I was heading out to get something to eat for breakfast I took a totally different route to get there, good thing because I would have never known about the classic car show on MainStrasse. I forced myself to get out of the house into the fresh air, thankfully this event was much smaller then the Cincinnati one. I did manage to walk it all, got a few nice photos, although I have to admit I really wasn't into it as much. Hope you enjoy.

This coming weekend is the Bromley, KY  Fire Department fund raiser, with fireworks, the Reds have there fireworks this Friday. I'm going to try something new at the Bromley fair so stay tuned for that.

I almost forgot to mention that Goettafest is happening this coming weekend as well in Newport, KY. Lots to do.

I forgot to mention this as well. The longest yard sale is this weekend. Start/Finish on MainStrasse.

More from the Classic Car Show

Here are the rest of the photos from the car show. You'll notice that I photographed quite a few engines as well, sometimes they were more impressive then the car itself. If you like classic cars this is a must see, there were at least 300 cars, 80% of lawn space was occupied. Plenty of food and non alcoholic drinks (alcohol not allowed in park) were available This will be on my to do list for next year as well, On a scale of 1-5 I will give this a......mmmmmm 4, just barely. Why not five? Negatives? I would like to have seen more drinks available throughout instead of just in one location, I did see a couple of ladies driving a cart with drinks in the back for sale but they only came around once. I was really hoping to see a lot more hot rods, the heat was bad, at least for me, I would have stayed longer if it wasn't for that. Some positives, parking was free the event was free. I went mid afternoon, parking was not an issue. If you parked your car on the grass majority of it was shaded.

Rollin' on the River Car Show

I don't know what you did today but I headed to the car show at Fernbank Park in Cincinnati. Classic car show that was well......a lot of fun. The photos shot are just for entertainment I wasn't trying to go all professional looking, not that I am even close to that but you get the idea, it was to difficult, first there was a ton of people always in the way, the cars were to close together and it seemed that every car I wanted to photograph from the front I had to face the sun, which always makes for a bad photo. Here are a few to start with. I will be downloading more a bit later. I enjoy photographing classic cars but I didn't take the time to write down what type of cars they were. Some may be obvious, others are well....not.
