Mainstrasse Oktoberfest 2013

We headed to Mainstrasse around noonish, I really wanted to get there before it became to crowded. I could have done without the heat, it was almost 90 at this point. Still worth the trip. Started out with a brat, then a boneless rib sandwich, soft pretzel and to end my day chocolate/peanut butter fudge, OMG YUMMY!!! This is the only festival in Covington that is worth going to and the one I look forward to the most. Best food ever!

Oktoberfest in Mainstrasse

Today could not have been anymore perfect, the weather was unbelievable, the company was great and the food was oh so yummy. These are the times I wish I liked beer, I know can you be anymore unamerican then not liking beer? We got there about 1:30pm and the place was absolutely packed. Your missing a lot if you don't head on down.

 Don't be fooled by the expression, these ladies loved having their photo taken.

 Okay so these guys aren't the Dave Matthews band (yes I know who the Dave Matthews band is) but they got the crowd going and you could tell they were having a blast.

 Biggest damn skillet I've ever seen

 If you get a chance stop on by this food booth, that young man is a hoot. Make sure he isn't the last person to count your change...those were his words, not mine.

 I'll take his word for that one.

 The flowers above are so sweet, they actually lure mosquito's into the pockets with their nectar and they drown in the nectar, this is the cool part, the nectar eventually dissolves the mosquito. We were so tempted to buy one.

 They were just so out of place.

MainStrasse Classic Car Show

I realize I haven't been around much, I've been a little under the weather. Yesterday as I was heading out to get something to eat for breakfast I took a totally different route to get there, good thing because I would have never known about the classic car show on MainStrasse. I forced myself to get out of the house into the fresh air, thankfully this event was much smaller then the Cincinnati one. I did manage to walk it all, got a few nice photos, although I have to admit I really wasn't into it as much. Hope you enjoy. 

This coming weekend is the Bromley, KY  Fire Department fund raiser, with fireworks, the Reds have there fireworks this Friday. I'm going to try something new at the Bromley fair so stay tuned for that.

I almost forgot to mention that Goettafest is happening this coming weekend as well in Newport, KY. Lots to do.

I forgot to mention this as well. The longest yard sale is this weekend. Start/Finish on MainStrasse.

Celebrating the Taft's 80th Anniversary

Today I went to Mainstrasse.......

To visit the Cock & Bull Pub.....

So I could find one of the Taft Museums Art pieces.
