Who the Heck am I

Welcome to my blog, I ran out of storage space on my last blog so instead of purchasing more space I decided to start another.

Photographing is one of my biggest passions in life. I've been a photographer for 20+ years. Although I have sold some of my work I consider myself an advance amateur. Which means I'm pretty good at pretending to know what I am doing. I arrived from Massachusetts to Northern Kentucky September 16, 2001. I hated it, for months I complained about living here, besides all the redneck jokes I would get there was nothing about Northern Kentucky I enjoyed, when I got over myself I dusted off my camera and headed for the hills, literally, I never fully understood what a beautiful place this is until I was given my first digital camera as a Christmas gift. In all honesty you couldn't get me to move out of this state.

Living so near to Cincinnati (I live right across the river) no other city can offer me more. Art museums, Cincinnati Zoo, symphony, theatre, aquarium, amusement park, Dozens of parks, one of the largest and most amazing firework display in the country and so much more. If you are from the area you know what I am talking about, if you're not, believe me when I say In and Around Northern Kentucky is worth the visit.

I know you will want to check out my other blog, I have shot photographs at the Behringer-Crawford Museum, Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati Zoo, Creation Museum, Eden Park, Findlay Market, Fountain, Square, Krohn Conservatory, Rabbit Hash, KY, Railway Museum, Smale Park, Spring Grove Cemetery and much more. Yikes! Has it really been that long?

Ashamed, shocked, appalled, I can't believe I haven't posted since August. As you can tell from the photo below it is now Fall. If you are from the area any idea where I took this photograph?

I've been a little busy, just returned from Southern California where it was...wait for it....83 degrees. Stay tune and come on back I promise, promise, promise to update. By the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY ME!!!

My Sunday Outing

Today was the Devou Park Fair, this is the 3rd or 4th year. If you have little ones this is certainly a nice little visit. My first stop was at the petting zoo, always a favorite.

Some dressed up in period clothing.
Even the Drees Pavilion was decorated.

I believe I counted 5 carriages giving free rides to anyone who wanted to stand in line.
This was the front part of the carriage ride line, it kept going and going. In all honesty the line did move quickly and the kids just loved it.

Music Entertainment anyone? This was the group Appalachian Troubadours. Local group that I will admit sounded pretty good. I saw at least 5 different performers, all of which I will give a B+.
Civil War Reenactment. It was lacking but still fun.
Of course a trip to Devou Park just would seem right without a photo of the City.
As I was leaving the Park the above photo was actually shot at the bottom of the hill the Ludlow side of Devou Park. If you are an avid bike rider and you totally enjoy trail riding this is definitely a place you'll want to ride. This section is just a tiny glimpse of the miles you'll trek through the park, over Sleepy Hollow Rd. and back into the hills. Maybe someday I'll walk part of it...hahahaha, who am I kidding.

I wasn't going to stay out much longer but thought I would head down River Road aka Route 8 towards Route 20. Just when I was about to turn around I remember McGlasson's.
I just love Fall, old country folk band and all.
Don't forget to pickup some Apple Cider, it was ohhhhh sooooo yummmmmmy!!!
You really do not want to miss this, huge and I mean huge pumpkin patch, everyone walked out with a pumpkin. So much fun. Word of advice, bring a wagon the hike becomes a lot longer when you're carrying a large pumpkin.
Of course if you didn't want to go find your own....

Spring Grove Cemetery

This morning on my way to work I decided to visit Spring Grove Cemetery. I've heard how beautiful it is in fall. Unfortunately I believe I missed peak, of course the last two days have been extremely windy so a lot of leaves have already dropped. If you're in the area I would still visit but I would do it soon.
