Some Late Summer Photos

 Some photos that were taken late summer 2015.

Visiting Cincinnati September 13th, 2015

 The USS LST 325 has been in operation since 1943.  This ship served during the North African operations, the Invasion of Sicily, the Invasion of Salerno, Italy.  The USS LST 325 also participated in the landings at Omaha Beach, Normandy France for D-Day June 6th, 1944 and made the landing on June 7th. On December 28th, 1944, the LST 325 rescued 700 men from the torpedoed troop transport ship the Empire Javelin, earning Comdr. Mosier a Bronze Star.

Cincinnati Bengals Paul Brown Stadium

Monday Night Football came to Cincinnati tonight, it was a great opportunity to head down to the river for some night photography of the stadium and of course the city. It was a great game as well as the Bengals kicked Pittsburgh's ass 20-10.

 The Great American Tower even had its orange on.

Early Morning River Walk Before Riverfest Begins

What a great morning to get up and head on out to the river before the heat sets in and the crowds devour all the festivities. Very rarely am I up this early and out the door, a routine I have to start, the city is a beautiful place to be as the sun is coming up.

This weekend is the biggest weekend for Northern Kentucky & Cincinnati. Riverfest is a must to experience at least once in your lifetime. To many events to list on both sides of the river then ending of course with the best fireworks display I have ever witnessed. Between all this on Sunday is the Rubber Duck Regatta, if you live in the area an explanation is not needed however, if you're reading from afar I'll explain... 

This Regatta is the largest and longest-running rubber duck race in the nation.

As many as 200,000 rubber duckies will be dropped from the Purple People Bridge to swim in the Ohio River near the Serpentine Wall during this annual tradition that is part of the end-of-summer celebration on Labor Day weekend. Ducks are $5 each or six for $25, and proceeds benefit Freestore Foodbank  on both sides of the river and the organization’s ability to provide meals for hungry kids.

22nd Annual Basketball Extravaganza

Tonight I took Greg for his birthday to the 22nd Annual Basketball Extravaganza, okay maybe I got the tickets more for me than him but it is the thought that counts right? The teams consisted of all stars from the Cincinnati Reds and the Bengals, past & present, plus if you contributed lots and lots of money to the charity you actually played. We had a blast and plan on doing this again next year.

My rating for this event between 1-5? A definite 5+.
