Who the Heck am I

Welcome to my blog, I ran out of storage space on my last blog so instead of purchasing more space I decided to start another.

Photographing is one of my biggest passions in life. I've been a photographer for 20+ years. Although I have sold some of my work I consider myself an advance amateur. Which means I'm pretty good at pretending to know what I am doing. I arrived from Massachusetts to Northern Kentucky September 16, 2001. I hated it, for months I complained about living here, besides all the redneck jokes I would get there was nothing about Northern Kentucky I enjoyed, when I got over myself I dusted off my camera and headed for the hills, literally, I never fully understood what a beautiful place this is until I was given my first digital camera as a Christmas gift. In all honesty you couldn't get me to move out of this state.

Living so near to Cincinnati (I live right across the river) no other city can offer me more. Art museums, Cincinnati Zoo, symphony, theatre, aquarium, amusement park, Dozens of parks, one of the largest and most amazing firework display in the country and so much more. If you are from the area you know what I am talking about, if you're not, believe me when I say In and Around Northern Kentucky is worth the visit.

I know you will want to check out my other blog, I have shot photographs at the Behringer-Crawford Museum, Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati Zoo, Creation Museum, Eden Park, Findlay Market, Fountain, Square, Krohn Conservatory, Rabbit Hash, KY, Railway Museum, Smale Park, Spring Grove Cemetery and much more. Some Late Summer Photos

Some photos that were taken late summer 2015.

Visiting Cincinnati September 13th, 2015

The USS LST 325 has been in operation since 1943.  This ship served during the North African operations, the Invasion of Sicily, the Invasion of Salerno, Italy.  The USS LST 325 also participated in the landings at Omaha Beach, Normandy France for D-Day June 6th, 1944 and made the landing on June 7th. On December 28th, 1944, the LST 325 rescued 700 men from the torpedoed troop transport ship the Empire Javelin, earning Comdr. Mosier a Bronze Star.

Beautiful Evening on the Ohio River

Last night the American Queen paddle boat was docked on the Cincinnati side of the Ohio River, it was a beautiful evening to head to the river and photograph such a beauty, even the evening sky was filled with beautiful colors that stretched high above Paul Brown Stadium.

The Calm Before the Storm

As a new twist Mother Nature has decided to switch things up a bit, the high today was in the upper 60's with severe thunderstorms, flash flooding and torrential downpours headed our way, why not we've had everything else this winter, Sunday and Monday a chance of snow...of course.
It was quite a shock to find the above photo shot without Finks Restaurant there. With Jeff Ruby's and now Finks no longer on the river Covington has nothing to offer in the form of entertainment, might as well bring on the casinos.

Anyone for a little adventure? One of these days!

 Devou Park even has waterfalls.
Thought I would give miniture mode a try.

Cincinnati Bengals Paul Brown Stadium

Monday Night Football came to Cincinnati tonight, it was a great opportunity to head down to the river for some night photography of the stadium and of course the city. It was a great game as well as the Bengals kicked Pittsburgh's ass 20-10.

The Great American Tower even had its orange on.

This is a photo of a barge passing in front me.
 A little Covington.

Hanging Out on Riverside Dr.

This evening Greg and I headed to Riverside Drive, we hadn't been there in a such a long time and what a beautiful evening it was. We also ran into some couples, one from Lexington, KY the other from West Chester, OH who were just the nicest people. I love living here.

The evening was going well until the Coast Guard or whoever patrols the river decided to start policing the boaters. It's hard to tell but the blue lights in almost the center of the photo is the police.

The above photos are a long exposure of the BB Riverboats. Both boats were coming in at the same time.
This is the helicopter we are planning on riding in the Fall. It's even smaller in person. Yikes!!!

Bengals Pep Rally Fireworks

I'll admit I didn't really think that the fireworks would go on as scheduled. It rained the entire time. As luck would have it I met a women who was also photographing the fireworks, she had an SUV that she offered and I took full advantage of, my camera was safe from the rain, I on the other hand I got totally soaked, didn't care though. Thank you Yvonne for sharing your tailgate with me.

Because of how dark they kept the stadium Paul Brown Stadium is barely seen and unfortunately a pillar in the lower left hand corner can be, if the Bengals do this again next I will change locations. The fireworks were nice, the one difference that I liked from the Reds firework event was that in a few shots they actually fired off 6 or 7 fireworks at a time. Even with the rain it made it a nice way to enjoy a Thursday evening.
